The installation was based on research into the Royal Festival Hall archives. The work represents an intersection between a cultural wave passing though the building horizontally and two forms named tibia and fibia, that represent the vertical stance of the human figure. Festival Hall by architect Leslie Marten was commissioned by the GLC for The Festival of Britain on 1949. Artstation had been invited to meet the architect to present the finished installation as an homage to the great socialist. Sadly Marten died a couple of days before Immaterial was presented to the world and to critical acclaim. The installation was voted best work of art in 50 years by the South Bank Arts Magazine.
Commissioned by Royal Festival Hall London.
